I have read that you can place one end of yarn into one color koolaide in a cup and the other end in another color in a cup and then watch it come together as it draws it up into the yarn and then it will mix the two in the middle...is this what yall are doing?

Similar ... I each skein of mine all one color and did 4 colors total. The instructions I read said to steam it on the stove so that is how I did mine.

I've done that before and it was really neat. I used blue on one end and red on the other: farm3.static.flickr.com/2368/2069030392_7d77e3e31e_o.jpgYou can see the blue underneath the red on top and the purple to the right in the middle. It was really neat. Only I wasn't nearly as neat. I dyed one half on the stove then pulled it out and laid it on the stove and dipped the other half. I had water EVERYWHERE. If I do it over I will use two post on the stove and do both at once.

you bring it to almost a boil then take it off the stove and cover it, let sit for about 30 min.
