Hi, I'm a fairly new loom knitter, and I have a question. I was watching a video by Isela Phelps. She was doing color work and she said to always "block" your work when working with color. I really don't know what blocking is. I'm hoping someone out there can fill me in. Thanks. By the way, she was doing something called "Fair Isle" color work, if that makes a difference. Thanks again.

When you block something and let it dry to size, does it stay that size, or do you have to block it every time you wash it? I imagine you would have to lay flat to dry, or it would stretch to kingdom come.

I heard you have to do it each time that you wash it.
