Hi, everyone. I am just devistated right now. I finally got my dad to agree to come live with me, so I could take care of him. He has renal failure and is on dialysis, he's also diabetic and many other health problems. Well, I went for him in New Mexico on Friday, we got home on Saturday night. At about 2 a.m. he called for me and told me he had a really bad pain in his side, I took him to the E.R. and they ran alot of tests, they were thinking it was his gall bladder, they did a sonagram, and found a mass in his liver. So, it looks, more than likely, that my dad has liver cancer. I'm feeling so scared right now, I don't know what to do. I've only had like 3 hours of sleep, and have pretty much been up for 33 hours. If any of you ladies on this group are even a little religous, can you please keep him in your prayers. We'll take all the prayers we can get. Thanks for letting me vent a little! God Bless!

Sorry to hear about your dad... My dad had many problems also toward the end of his life. At least I can say he chose his time to go. I hope your dad gets well soon, I remember the waiting game to see what was going to happen.

Sylvia your ad is in my prayers. We will be praying for him during morning prayer services in our tent sets as well (every morning at 10:30 am). Please keep us updated on his condition. I will be praying for you as well for comfort and strength.

Thank you both! We're still trying to come to terms with whats happened. We go see the cancer surgeon on Wednesday, so we'll know what our options are from there. Again, thank you so much for the prayers.

Hi everyone, we went to see the oncology surgeon today. Basically what he told us is that this cancer is uncureable. What is going to be done, is to give my dad chemotherapy directly to his liver in hopes of shrinking the tumor. If the tumor does shrink, then they'll either try to remove it or just give my dad a liver transplant. If neither of those 2 options work, then my dad will have at most 2 years left. It was a lot to take in, and quiet shocking to hear, but my dad said he'll go down kicking and screaming, so my sister and I are in this with him. I just never thought to hear the word cancer with anyone in my family, I guess nobody ever WANTS to hear that word. But thanks for listening everyone and for your prayers. They mean so much to me, I don't know if I'll ever be able to tell you how much they mean to me, but I hope you all know that I do appreciate them.
