When time allows and I am not looming, which is not very often, I like to indulge in some long stitch, I was once addicted to cross-stitch but had to give it up as I can no longer hold the needle without my hands, arms and shoulders killing me (arthritis).. I guess my other addiction short of looming is writing stories, I have penned a few short stories and am halfway (I think) through a novel..hours really do fly by when I am writting..just like looming! I also love to cook and have just found a new addiction to chillies.. I also love to read..at the moment I am into anything written by 'Sherrilyn Kenyon'

I love books but find I can't loom or knit while reading so my son brought me an mp4 player for my birthday, and now I listen to the story and can loom or knit at the same time

Dotty that is a great idea!!! I love reading as well and it is my other addiction aside from loom knitting. I have an ipod so maybe I will try and load some stories into it. I do have an mp3 player that has a dramatized version of the bible in it that I listen to sometimes when I loom knit.

Dotty, that is a wonderful idea, I normally use mine for music while cleaning, looming and gardening. I love to garden and grow my own veggies as well as can them and freeze them for winter months. Lori

I knit both with needles and without, crochet, sew and I tat. With two little ones I don't get much done, but I still love it. Heather

It is fairly easy after you learn how to flip the stiches. My sister and I learned about 6 years ago. I'll have to post a pic of some of my finished projects. Heather

I never thought about using my MP3 player for books. I'm a book addict, so sometimes its hard for me to have to choose between the 2, do I want to loom or read? If I'm into a really good book, its hard for me to put it down! LOL.

I'm the same way too!! If I have a good book I just want to disappear or snuggle down until I finish it. hmmm just can't understand when my husband gets upset lol My books are sorta like a crutch, I always have one with me and several when I'm traveling. Even if I'm sure I won't be able to read them all, they must travel with me anyway.

I'm exactly the same way! Ever since I was a little girl, i've always had a book with me wherever I go! Just today, I went to the library and found 3 books on CD that look good, this way I can knit and "read" at the same time!
