Hi all, I have a question. When reading a pattern, and it says for example "knit 5 purl 4 from *to end of row" does that mean that the * is the beginning of row? I'm really confused as to what the little * means! LOL, so if anyone can help me, i'll love you forever! Thanks in advance.

Oops, I guess I should have put this in loom knitting questions. Sorry, hope it's ok.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm just not getting it. So does it denote a certain numbered stitch? I'm such a visual learner, it's hard for me to just read and be able to do it. I feel really dumb even asking this question, but I'm really just not getting it.

When you read the pattern .... the row will tell you to do something then have a * ... or maybe it will just have a * from where that * is in the pattern till the end of the row you do the part it is telling you to repeat. In this case knit 5 purl 4.
example: if pattern says knit 7 purl 2 * ... or something like that you will do the knit 5 purl 4 from that * to the end of the row. or if it says knit 5 purl 4 * keep doing that till the end of row..
Hope this makes sense. I am a visual person too so it is hard for me to explain things sometimes. And I have to reread quite a few times to "get it". Don't feel bad.
